Liquid damage is never covered by any warranty (Industry Standard).

The reason for this is that liquid damage can cause latent defects and form corrosion.

(Corrosion is a form of rust)

So if we assess a device now soon after the liquid damage, only 1 or 2 parts may appear damaged. But later defects can still occur due to the liquid forming corrosion.

Our devices mostly have an IP68 rating, meaning shock and water resistant to a certain specification .

Usually 1.5m under water for 30 mins.

It is not covered because we have no proof of how the device became liquid damaged.

The client could have gone diving 18m under the sea for 40 mins. (This obviously exceeds the spec)

Usually a main board would also have to be replaced after liquid damage. A mainboard is usually 70% of the value of a new device which is why we rather urge client to purchase a new device as that would make more sense financially and the client would then also have a new warranty in place.
